Photo Booth, Mirror Booth or 360 Booth: Which Suits Your Formal?
Booths are consistently one of the most-used parts of a formal night — no appointment needed, and they keep the dance floor area busy between sets. The three common formats suit slightly different nights.
Photo booth
The classic option: a backdrop, props and instant prints. Simple, fast-moving and reliable for a large guest list — most groups are in and out in under a minute, which matters when the whole cohort wants a turn.
Mirror booth
A full-length, interactive mirror with on-screen animations and prompts. It draws a bigger crowd around it than a standard photo booth and tends to suit venues with a bit more open floor space to work with.
360 booth
A rotating camera arm capturing a slow-motion video loop rather than a still photo — built for sharing straight to social media. This is the format that tends to get requested by name once students have seen it at another event.
Choosing
- Tight venue or budget: photo booth
- Want a real crowd magnet: mirror booth
- Guest list skews toward wanting shareable video: 360 booth
All three run as part of the same night as arrivals photography, staging and any live stream — see the full formal night timeline and how it all comes together with one production team.
